Welcome! autism avents was founded in 2018 by Davina Feder - an autism specialist with over a decade of experience working in a variety of settings and services in the autism field. She noticed there is often lots of focus on trying to ensure people with autism adapt and fit into our world, but very little around us trying to enter theirs.
autism avents provides services that focus on improving the happiness of individuals with autism and therefore the quality of life for them and their families.
Being a parent or sibling of a child, young person or adult with autism can feel quite isolating. Especially as there seems to be some support and information for parents, but where does that leave you if the rest of your family and friends don't understand autism? autism avents delivers bespoke presentations about autism for families, friends and anyone else in your life who would benefit from learning more and feeling more empowered; building a stronger and more informed support network for the autistic individual and their loved ones.
We all remember the parties we had and attended growing up; the importance of coming together with friends and family and making those special memories! autism avents recognises that people with autism are missing out on celebrating milestones in their own lives and also missing out on attending celebrations for friends and family. autism avents will create a space where people with autism can truly enjoy themselves at such events. This may not necessarily fit preconceived ideas of what a 'party' looks like and that's ok! This is designed around the individual's likes and needs, whatever these may be - it's what we're all about!
